The buzz… For some time now, I have been listening to people talk about the Panasonic Lumix Digital Camera.  Being a fan of my Canon EOS Rebel T3i 18 MP CMOS APS-C Sensor DIGIC 4 Image Processor Full-HD Movie Mode Digital SLR Camera with 3.0-Inch Clear View Vari-Angle LCD and EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens (yes, I had to add all of those details ), I didn’t pay much attention to all the chatter.  I love my Canon!  I named her (my Canon), Cleo which is short for Cleopatra since she was quite the rebel in her time as well.

A few days ago, I spent an afternoon with friends.  I did not bring my trusty camera because I wanted to travel lightly.  I also had 2 children, 2 dogs, a large cooler filled with food and some outdoor toys for my children in tow.  My girlfriend on the other hand, did bring her camera… Her brand new birthday present camera!!!  It was the Panasonic Lumix I had not paid any attention to previously.  Of course, I couldn’t help myself and HAD TO try it out.  My first thought… snicker… a camera that small, which seemed so easy to use could not be that great!

Well, it seems that in the wonderful world of digital cameras, size does not matter; I was proven wrong.  The camera was great!  We downloaded the pictures onto my friend’s iPad and they came out beautiful.  To break it down for a “wannabe photographer” like myself, here is the list of why the Panasonic Lumix ZS20 14.1 MP High Sensitivity MOS Digital Camera with 20x Optical Zoom (Black) is a fantastic camera…

1. The Price – ONLY $238.95 – A 32% discount considering the camera is usually around $349.00
2. The Zoom Capabilities are AWESOME!  They even work while recording… Yes, you can record videos with the camera too!
3. With the recording, the camera offers a noise reduction system, and what is called a VENUS Engine… Seriously, a camera with an ENGINE!
4. An auto wind cut function – huh?  Yup, it is capable of blocking out noise from background wind so you can hear the people or animals or whatever you are trying to record.
5. All sorts of shooting options like Panorama Shot Modes, 3D Photo Mode (truly a 3D image in the camera), Night shooting, Auto Retouching And MORE!
6. The Panasonic Lumix offers scene detection, Intelligent at the beginning of almost all of the features listed… somehow, I like the sound of that.
7. Manual and Automatic controls.  I prefer auto so that I can take pictures without thinking too much!
8. PHOTOfunSTUDIO – Not sure how yet but somehow you can use your iTunes music with the camera, create a short movie story and more… pretty neat!

10. And for the last from my “wannabee photographer” list… GPS!  Yes, I am serious!  A CAMERA WITH GPS SYSTEM WHICH HAS WORLD MAP INFORMATION!
