How an innocent day at the park can go wrong

An innocent day at the park with 6 kids and 2 mothers.  What could possibly go wrong?

It was a beautiful day.  The sun was shining, birds were chirping and kids were playing.  And then, one mom decided that it was time to take some pictures.  What this mom did not realize is that the pictures would result in the below.

I just had to post them because they gave us suck a chuckle when we “actually” looked at them! photo efe05db6-2bbc-4458-80a0-4123b4602a29_zpsd51fd9af.jpg

The cookie caper

Talia: “Mom, how many cookies did you say I could eat if I finished my green beans?”
Mom: “2, and remember, I have a video camera watching.”
Talia: “Julia, should I tell her the truth?”
Julia: “NOOO Talia! Don’t do it! You’ll be sorry (pronounced sowwweee)! Trust Me!”
Talia: “Ok Mom… Don’t be mad but I kind of already had four but I am going to finish my green beans now! I promise!”
Julia: “Talia, do you think I should tell her what I did?”
Talia: “No Julia, she probably already knows and you are probably already in trouble.”
Julia: “Yeah, you’re right. Thanks Talia.”
Mom’s thoughts… so close… yet, an epic backfire!

Bubbles everywhere

Do bubbles ever get old?  Bubbles are the number one “extra” I love to add to all birthday presents for little ones!  Especially in the summer!  Somehow, they are always trending!

As much as I cannot stand a song I learned with Talia at Gymboree, it has stuck in my brain and I most likely will never get it out!  So… that said, here goes…

There are bubbles everywhere, everywhere (clap) (clap)

The morning hustle

This morning started out quite typical… hitting snooze on my alarm clock a few times, yelling for the girls to wake up… I laid out their clothes.  I jumped in the shower.  I jumped out of the shower.  The girls still didn’t have their clothes on.  I made them breakfast… clothes still not on… I dried my hair (a rarity)… clothes still not on…

Fast Forward… Finally, in the car, we drove to school.  I parked (illegally), and the girls jumped out of the car.  I grabbed their backpacks, my bag, a little something for a teacher, and Julia’s show and tell toy.  Chasing after the girls, it happened.  Julia, the little bugger, decided to trip me!

You know, the perfect kind where they act like they didn’t really mean it… yet, you know what is about to happen, but cannot do anything about it… Yes, that thing… it’s called the Holy Crap I literally just did a flip and landed on my a*s, scraped my you know what, as well as my hand, think my pants may have partially fallen down… all this in front of a whole parking lot filled with parents doing drop off.  It was fantastic (insert sarcasm here)!

Seething, I got the girls into school.  Neither asked how I was or acknowledged the blood gushing from my hand.  Off to the pharmacy I went.  I found a new type of bandage that conforms to your skin and has medicine on it (damn new innovations)!  I covered the new super-duper bandage with some other type of bandage (thanks to Mr. Pharmacist who was clearly trying to make me spend money for no reason).  Once in my car, I put it on.  Bandage one and two didn’t seem so bad.  Fast forward again… 20 minutes later… whoa!  What was that tingling…  Oh my… and the burning… Sh*t!  WTF!  Really now, they could have warned me that after the medicine seeped slooowwwly into my skin that I would want to scream and rip the sh*t off myself…

Lovely morning… how was yours?

Probiotics and your child’s health

Although the groundhog told us that spring was coming, it seems that cold and flu season is still in full force.  Now, add 2 young children in school full-time, and what you have folks are 2 little germ infested girls and a neurotic mother.

This winter, after our first hospital stint with the stomach bug, our Pediatrician told me to make sure to introduce probiotics into my daughter’s diet.  My first reaction… what on earth do they need those for?  Since I trust our Pediatrician implicitly, I decided to comply and gave it a shot.  Unfortunately, our first probiotic intake experience did not go so well.  My daughters, and their picky pallets were not impressed with the taste.  Probiotic experience #1 was an epic fail!

Back to basics, I decided to do as I always do… disinfect, force the girls to eat like champions, encourage hand washing, tell Julia that she would lose privileges if she put her fingers in her mouth, and more… then, we were given the opportunity to try Culturelle® Kids probiotics.  I was happy since the products are sugar, dairy and gluten-free.  They come in both chewable tablets as well as a colorless and flavorless powder.  Since my daughters don’t weigh enough for the chewable tablets, I added the powder in their drinks.

Here is Talia, the picky eater…

Thoughts from Talia… Are you sure about this???  I’ll try it but… I’m not sold yet!

Ok, This isn’t so bad… wait… wait… another sip…

SUCCESS!

Culturelle® Kids probiotics are ideal for adding good bacteria back into my girl’s bodies. With so many things in our environment affecting the way our bodies react, probiotics are a necessity for maintaining optimal health.

Culturelle® Kids Probiotics is a natural solution for better digestive and immune health. Not only does it support a child’s digestion, helping to reduce occasional digestive upset, but it also helps to boost digestion and overall digestive health.

Considering that 70% of your immune system is in your digestive tract, a healthy and balanced digestive system plays a vital role in strengthening a child’s overall health and well-being.

To learn more, check out the Culturelle® website now.

And if you are interested in receiving $2.00 off your next Culturelle purchase, click here. (Offer expires April 30, 2013.)
