Just Like I Am

This handsome American Singer-Songwriter/Actor definitely has a way about him.  I’m not sure if it his guitar playing or lyrics but somehow, they all mesh perfectly.  It only took me one song, “Just Like I Am,” to become hooked on his music.  ”Walking On Eggshells,” another song of his came next and I realized that I was in the middle of a secret love affair with his music.  Fortunately, he isn’t too bad to look at either.

Just for the record… my husband is still, and always will be the only one I hold in my heart.  Don’t get any funny ideas here!  If you don’t believe me though, just take a listen to Mr. Landon Pigg.

Tweet no more

(insert picture here… just imagine it…)

Saturday evening, I curled up on my couch and grabbed my iPad while my husband watched bad TV.  His “bad TV” watching moments are usually when I get the majority of my social media fix in.  It’s like a light at the end of the tunnel for me (ok, so maybe it isn’t that wonderful but still a part of my daily routine).

I checked my emails, moved to Facebook, peeked at my LinkedIn profile and off I was to Twitter.  Once finished with those, I normally find myself engrossed with Pinterest until I’m pinned out.  Trying to log into Twitter, I realized that my account had been compromised.  In fact, according to Twitter, TrendingMom no longer exists.  Neither do my 14,000 or so followers I guess (which is also why there is no picture inserted in this post.  I cannot insert an anatomically correct Twitter pic without access to Twitter).

It’s frustrating to say the least.  I feel violated.  After my divorce (from my job), I made a point to change all of my user names and passwords… except Twitter.  I didn’t want anyone with access to my personal information.  I assumed that Twitter would be the last thing anyone would be interested in.  Clearly, I was wrong.  I’ve been hacked.  Whether it is someone I know, or some random super computer whizzzzzz… they succeeded.  My Twitter Account Is CURRENTLY NULL AND VOID… Fortunately, the wonderful people at Twitter have worked tirelessly, around the clock, trying to find out what happened with my account since Saturday (ok, so maybe they haven’t, but a girl can dream… right?).

Hopefully, my infamous tweets will start circulating again soon.  Twitter, if you are listening, please help… I am floundering without you…

Music for the child in us

Think… daydreaming, summer, butterflies and bubbles… Those are just some of the thoughts listening to Kurr, by Amiina invoke.

The album has an ethereal sound that is not only soothing, but  brings a smile when listened to.  I found it yesterday during my travels through the cyber-world.  Since then, I have listened to it non-stop and have yet to grow tired of it. It was love the moment I began listening.

Songbird or Bluejay

Ok, so maybe this birds shower voice sounds worse than a bluejay, but… I don’t care. I still love to belt out a tune (or 2… or 3), while taking my time lathering my hair with delicious smelling shampoo. While on the Newegg website, I came across this shower radio:  The… Sangean AM/FM Shower Radio H201! It’s fantastic! I didn’t even realize these were still being sold in todays digital world! I was so excited that I actually bought it! Impulse buy???  YES! Was it worth it??? YES!!!

Instant Film Camera Love

Now, I’m not saying you should replace your absolutely fantastic digital camera for this but… The Fujifilm Instant Film Camera does have its perks (and happens to be absolutely fantastic too)!

Reasons why you should buy The Fujifilm Instant Film Camera:
1. watching your pictures develop is a magical experience | 2. they are fun to use | 3. nostalgia | 4. if you are an instant gratification person like me, you won’t stop smiling every time you take a picture | 5. because you probably can’t give me a good reason not to.

Fantastic Photo App

My Self Portrait Phase Has Yet To Dissipate.
There are some positive outcomes though (regardless of what I may look like)…

The positives:

1.  Learning more about my camera,
2.  Learning about myself…

For example:
(a) I do NOT look great in many types of lighting,
(b) I have more wrinkles than I thought I did,
(c) My hair looks better when I have not washed it as long as I don’t zone in on the roots.

3.  Finally, finding new and fantastic apps to hide all the things that I have learned about myself!
Vintique, happens to be ranked very high on my long list of “must have” apps!

Top 1% Most Viewed LinkedIn Profiles

LinkedIn reached a milestone recently; they have over 200,000,000 members and are going strong! For those of you who don’t feel like counting the zero’s, that’s 200 Million!
Along with celebrating LinkedIn’s success, I was pleasantly surprised to receive my very own email from LinkedIn stating that I (yes, little old me), was one of the TOP 1% MOST VIEWED PROFILES ON LINKEDIN FOR 2012! Regardless of whether I sound like a braggart or not, I am proud to be in the Top 1% and had to share!

Now… Do The Math… 1% Of 200,000,000 Is NOT That Fantastic Of A Number.  I happen to be 1 in 2 Million who were awarded a spot in the Top 1% for 2012… What that means – LinkedIn has a bunch of marketing geniuses working for them, hence their 200,000,000 members, including me, who were kind enough to retweet their ranking with LinkedIn thus – FREE MASS MARKETING FOR LINKEDIN!  Now that is SOCIAL MEDIA AT IT’S FINEST!
