Top 5 Audiobooks

Audiobooks happen to be my latest vice.  I suppose that isn’t the worst vice to have for most. Unfortunately, I am not like most people.  When I allow a vice into my world, I let it consume me.  Since finding my new passion/vice, the wonderful world of Audiobooks, my bedtime ritual has changed, my eyes are tired every morning, I hit my snooze button more often and my daily functioning is sub par.  Needless to say, in order for anyone to appreciate this, they too need to understand the beauty of my latest obsession/vice.  That is why I decided to include the top 5 audiobooks here for you to download, enjoy and become overly obsessed with!

4 out of the 5 Audiobooks below are a part of my current library.  Gone Girl is the only one I have not read/listened to yet. Gone Girl is also the one I have heard the most positive feedback on.  Currently, I have had a late night relationship with the same audiobook for a week.  Each night, I wake to my headphones on, hot ears and no recollection of what I just listened to.  Yes, that is because I keep falling asleep. Rather than move on to the next book, I start from the beginning once again each night. Tonight will be the 8th night I’m once again starting from the beginning.  My goal, to finish the audiobook I am trying my hardest to stay awake through!  I would like to finish it by this weekend. Gone Girl is the next one on my radar, and I am determined to soak up every word spoken as soon as possible!

No Longer Missing The Days When Mom Would Read To Me… All It Took Was A Free Audiobook…

As much as I love to sit down to a good book, I still miss being young, snuggled up in bed and listening to my mother read me a magical story.  I may not be able to get my youth back but I can surely let someone else do the work for my tired eyes once in a while.  I used to stick my nose up at people that purchased audiobooks.  As if there is a difference between reading yourself and listening… clearly, I was a book snob (or should I say idiot).

For years, I took pride in the fact that I would read 1 to 2 books a week.  Now, I take pride that I am absorbing 1 to 2 books per week.  Some which I read with my very own eyes, and some which I let someone else get parched while recording multiple pages filled with words for me.  The benefits of listening to audiobooks are fantastic!

  1. I can listen to a book late into the evening without getting tired eyes.
  2. I can listen to an audiobook and still spend time around my family while they watch tv shows I have ZERO interest in.
  3. I can listen to an uplifting audiobook while driving to work every morning and night.
  4. I can listen to an audiobook while doing my groceries.
  5. I can listen to an audiobook while cleaning my house.
  6. I can listen to an audiobook while lounging by a pool… The list just goes on…
Besides finding a cure for a deadly disease, or in my case, cooking, there aren’t many things that I would not do while listening to an audiobook.  I only mention cooking because I may be one of the few people in the world that is able to burn broccoli in a microwave…
