Somehow, all the little one’s (children and dogs) in our family have acquired a nickname with “bag of donuts” in it.

This, being my husbands doing, quite some time ago, has been an ongoing trend in our home. That said, the nickname Roo (Rocky) Bag Of Donuts, goes to our 9-year-old chap (chihuahua).

He is such a LOVE!

Bulldog Love | Bulldog Rubs…

First Came Love, Then Came Marriage, Then Came Rocky (The Chihuahua) In A Baby Carriage… Ok, The Girls Came Next… What I Didn’t Expect… What Happened Next… The Arrival Of Cooper (The Bulldog) (AKA Biggest Baby Of Them All))…

February 2011, marked the birth of Cooper Cotter.  Although born and bred in Alabama, Cooper was destined for Boston, Ma.  Surviving a treacherous (a one hour delay) flight, he arrived, crated, aggravated, and smelling a bit putrid in Logan Airport where he was greeted by the amazing couple he would know as mom and dad.

Being quite the decorated fellow, he commanded attention immediately upon arrival. Since he was a puppy, and very cute, he definitely received it. Little did we (the Cotter family) know that the need for attention would never go away. Rather, his needy behavior would only get worse leading to what I like to call the constant bum rub.

Although there is nothing I love more than being home and spending time with my family (including our dogs), I would not mind an evening or two, on my couch, without a 75 pound bulldog named Cooper, pushing against me with his latter half until I rub his bum (which is actually his lower back). Get your mind out of the gutter… again.

Boo – The Famous Pomeranian

Boo… I have no words!

I realize this famous Pomeranian causes a media frenzy on a daily basis, but I am still kind of freaked out by the dog… Maybe it’s the pictures, or maybe it’s the outfits he is often seen in… It could even be his perfectly manicured self… Regardless, the dog kind of creeps me out in a really cute and non-threatening way… Now, I can even get a plush version of him… maybe seeing him daily will make him less creepy… Get your Boo Plush too!

Birthday Presents For A 6-Year-Old Girl

Between a My Little Pony, a different My Little Pony or another My Little Pony, buying my soon to be 6-year-old birthday gifts have been a breeze… until this year.
My little girl Talia decided just a week ago that My Little Pony figures were no longer her favorite toys. Unfortunately, her birthday is in a few days…

Buying Birthday Presents For A 6-Year-Old Girl

Now what? Birthday present shopping was supposed to be easy. Why, all of a sudden then did she change her tune? Although not sure, I wondered… Maybe she is so smart (I mean seriously, she is wicked (can you tell I am from Boston) smart!  (crickets) )… As I was saying, I wondered… maybe she is is so smart that she deliberately tried to throw me off my game this year! Maybe so, or… maybe she is just getting bored with the same old same old. Needless to say, her taste in toys went from this…

 To this…
 To this…
 Then this…
 Finally asking for… THIS…

I have no words. ((puzzled))

Afraid Of A Moth?

Listen to a bestseller for $7.49 at audible.com!

Right on schedule, the moment Danny and I had a second to relax and plant our behinds on our couches, our bulldog, Cooper started scratching at the door to go out. It was Danny’s turn. On their way back in, they were followed by the most disgusting creature I have ever seen. A moth! Yes, I am petrified of moths.

Of course, as I witness the nasty little being come in behind the two of them, I screamed…and screamed…and screamed! As Danny was trying to swat the thing, the unthinkable happened. I continued to scream…and scream…and scream. Wouldn’t you know it, the moth came darting at my forehead, and I simply watched it – screaming the whole time. As soon as my eyes were cross-eyed from staring at the thing, it smacked me on my forehead and kept on flying. My recollection of exact events from this point on is not so great. I believe I may have been convulsing. Either that, or the furry creature partially knocked me out. Regardless, I remember Danny stating he did in fact swat the moth and he believed it was dead.

Finally able to breathe, I calmed down and started reading. About an hour later, Rocky, my Chihuahua needed to go out. Danny took potty duty once again. This time though, he did not bring a moth into the house. Oh no, he didn’t need to. Somehow, the awful creature who caused my concussion the first time sprung back to life. Oh yes! He was alive and well. Again, he started circling my living room fast and furious. Again, I screamed! Only this time, I buried my head under a pillow and continued to scream. Slowly though, the screams were turning into tears. While under the pillow, I heard Danny run into the house. Clearly he saw the moth. I could hear him shuffling through the living room. All of a sudden, he yelled, “got it”! Sigh. I popped my head out from under the pillow. “Where is it…where is it?” I asked as Cooper was licking my face, worried about me. “I smacked it dead to the ground and then Cooper ate it,” Danny said. Fantastic…

My Little Pony In The Belly Of My Bulldog Pup?

Save up to 85% off with 1Ink.com's huge Back To School sale!

“Is anyone missing a My Little Pony?”  Yup, that’s what she said…

Thursday evening, I noticed Cooper didn’t look too hot.  My normally crazy bulldog pup was not his usual self.  Not interested in his food or water, and having regurgitated a stinky liquid, I realized Cooper had more than just a little stomach bug.  Of course, since the veterinarian’s office was closed, before taking him to an ever so expensive animal hospital, I decided to look up his symptoms.  The results all pointed to one thing… get him seen immediately.

Off we were, to our local animal hospital!  I drove as calming music played in the background… Cooper huffed, puffed, and complained the whole ride.  The pathetic noises were nothing in comparison to what we were about to deal with.  Arriving at the hospital, I realized the wait would be long.  There were many other patients ahead of us.  Sitting with Cooper in the waiting room seemed like forever.  He is still a puppy and very inquisitive.  Every patient that came in was a new friend according to Cooper.  Finally, the Veterinarian came and asked for Cooper.  We spoke briefly, and she let me know that they believed he needed x-rays.  Handing off my big baby, I prayed for our pregnant veterinarian, hoping she would have a positive experience with my puppy, although I knew the moment they tried to keep him still, he would cause a ruckus.

The moment of truth came when our Veterinarian asked for us after his x-rays came back.  Her first words… “is anyone in your home missing a My Little Pony?”  Danny and I looked at one another with complete disbelief (well, kind of)… “Yes, I am sure” I said.  We both shook our heads and did not know whether to laugh or cry.  The vet then told us that Cooper was a little out of sorts because they had to sedate him for the x-rays… shocker!  She took us back to the x-ray room because she needed us to verify whether the My Little Pony in question was in fact the type with plastic hair or doll hair.  The difference being the way they may need to remove it and whether they needed a lasso or it could be pulled out by the hair.  The x-ray was amazing.  A perfect silhouette.  I have added two pictures, one side view and the other a rear view.

At about 2:30 am, my daughter Julia woke up and asked where Cooper was.  When we informed her that a My Little Pony was in his belly and he was at the Animal Hospital, she responded “Oh my gosh!  Is that where Scootaloo is?”  Well, we thought maybe she was right but the next day, we saw Cooper just after the operation and the Veterinarian showed us a bag which contained the My Little Pony and the real culprit of his issues… an actual doggy rope toy.  Once home, I showed Talia the x-rays and she immediately said, “MOM!  That’s Applejack!  You found Applejack!”  Torn between whether the pony was Applejack or Scootaloo, I asked the girls what each looked like.  Wouldn’t you know it, Talia described little Applejack perfectly.  It was most definitely the same pony found in Cooper Cotter’s belly.  Mystery solved, Cooper is well and on the mend.
